GDPR Implementation in Twelve Months – monthly update

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be implemented in exactly one year so the cyber team at Safeonline thought it would be a good opportunity to write an article every month outlining the key changes and the potential business implications. Recent reports have found that 84% of UK small business owners and 43% of senior executives are unware of the GDPR so we hope that providing a mini guide with an overview of the impact and changes will help businesses. One thing that has been clarified by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) is that Brexit is not a get out option for complying with the GDPR. Within each post, we will be looking to explain the regulation, the impact on a business and practical steps that can be taken. The below is a guide to the monthly posts so please check back every month for an update:

  1. Introduction to the GDPR
  2. Territorial Scope and Data Processor’s Obligations
  3. Principles and Processing
  4. Data Subject Rights
  5. Accountability
  6. Data Protection Officers
  7. Breach Notification
  8. Security
  9. International Transfers
